My Fort Worth Film Competition

FORT WORTH, Texas (May 13, 2016) – First-time filmmakers and seasoned pros will have the opportunity to debut their short film at Lone Star Film Festival with the My Fort Worth Film Competition. The Fort Worth Film Commission (FWFC) and Lone Star Film Festival (LSFF) have partnered to add this free short-film category to the 2016 festival.

Filmmakers are challenged to showcase Fort Worth in an original two-minute film, music video, documentary or animated short for the chance to be screened at LSFF, November 10-13, 2016. Winning entries will be screened at the Festival, and others will be selected to be showcased on the FWFC website.

“We are excited to partner with the FWFC to offer a free category in this year’s festival,” said Chad Matthews, director of LSFF. “This is a fun opportunity to activate our local film community and give filmmakers outside Fort Worth the chance to discover the variety of locations our city has to offer.”

Filmmakers should visit FilmFortWorth.com for location inquiries and permitting assistance.

“We hope this competition will encourage filmmakers to reach out to the Film Commission and use the resources we have available,” said Jessica Christopherson, director of public relations and film marketing for the Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau, parent organization of the FWFC. “Our locations database is constantly growing and we are building a Tarrant County production directory.”
