The Texas Media Production Alliance, founded in 2006, is the leading advocacy organization for film, television, commercial, digital media, and virtual production industries. We serve the industry across Texas for enhanced media production incentives at the state and local levels. TXMPA partners with stakeholders, including the regional film commissions, small business owners, large and small vendors, economic development organizations, film festival organizations, and all levels of media production professionals. 

 

Community Partners Coordinator Position Overview:

 

We are looking for an experienced Community Partners Coordinator to oversee social media, film festival partnerships, and event management. In addition to the above, this person may perform light administrative duties including but not limited to general email response, newsletter draft/ edits, outreach to membership and sponsors, etc. 

 

The ideal candidate is someone who has worked professionally in the media production or events industry for at least 2 years. Someone with knowledge of the Texas government is not a must but certainly helps. The candidate should have a strong understanding of integrated marketing, event planning, and partnership communications and be comfortable -- and energized -- to work with many levels of professionals within the media industry, government, lobby teams, and economic development organizations. We seek a dynamic person to fill this role. 

 

Roles & Responsibilities 

  • Events- as needed:

    • Understand the requirements for each event, social  media campaign, and outreach to film festival partners

    • Think outside the box and bring creative ideas to the table

    • Plan events with attention to financial and time constraints

    • Hire personnel- if needed

    • Manage all event operations- if needed (preparing venue, invitations etc.)

    • Final checks at the day of the event (e.g. tables, technology) to ensure everything meets standards

    • Oversee event happenings and act quickly to resolve problems

    • Evaluate the event’s success and submit reports

    • Well-organized with multi-tasking skills

  • Film Festival Partnerships:

    • Communicate regularly with our film festival partnerships

    • Push out discounts to members and sponsors

    • Relay messages back to film festival partners in a timely manner

    • Seek new partnerships throughout the year

    • Coordinate panel and roundtable discussions with festivals to include yourself, Paul, and our board members

  • Social Media:

    • Develop social media campaigns within our brand

    • Define KPIs and KRAs for social media campaigns

    • Update social media content across all channels

    • Engage with customers and followers

    • Use social media marketing tools such as Buffer and Hootsuite if you prefer

    • Drive membership engagement

    • Update social media based on trends

    • Knowledge of best practices for social media platforms we use: Instagram & LinkedIn

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Craft engaging content

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2+ years of professional experience in the media production and/or event industry

  • Professional experience in communications, marketing, and/or public relations is a plus

  • Excellent communications and stakeholder management skills

  • Must be based in Texas and willing to travel, on occasion, across Texas.

Compensation:

  • No more than 5 hours/ week.

  • Part-time, independent contractor position. 

  • Event planning will result in an increase in payment for that event.
